First off, Amazon is listed in the Us stock market in NASDAQ. They have proven themselves to be a profitable company and is not in the true sense of the word stopping in their tracks anytime soon . So, as someone who has deep ineterst in making some moolah from affiliate marketing, it is good sense for you to actually take notice of Amazon and what it offers to the affiliate marketing community.
What the Amazon Affiliate Program does for us money making fools is that it offers us the website or blog owner the ability to promote any product from its inventory by simply adding a predefined code to their blog or website. By doing that, you are basically allowing Amazon to put up their products on your site and of course you are not doing this for the fun of it. What happens is that when a visitor who oh so loves to vidit your blog happens to fancy what he sees what Amazon is offering and clicks on the image on your site, it will then take them to the relevant product page which of course will contain all the information that they need about that product. The visitor is then presold on the product and walaa! Buys the product and there you go, some Amazon staff will start sending you some good fresh moolah (up to 10% commission)from our good ol Amazon. Take note however that you must attain a $100.00 minimum earnings and that a $15 processing fee will be applied to all Associates with US addresses when choosing this option.
The Amazon Affiliate program, being a simple program to implement has definitely attracted the droves of bloggers from all corners of the blog empire. From scratchy beggars to the barons of the blogging empire, we see the program being implemented allright. On top of that, Amazon offers all kinds of products. heck, you could even buy some clothes hangers if you want. But the majority of the people would of course look out for Amazon’s huge offerings of books (mainly), CDs, movie posters, DVDs, etc. With this huge array of products, there is a chance that someone actually buys a product from the affiliate link that you have provided in your blog.
There are tools to help you implement the program on your blog. Sign up for the Amazon Affiliate program and head down to the associates page and there you will find all sorts of options for you to link to products using buttons, pictures, text links, banners and more. With the success of this program, you might just walk away with a cheque with your name on it of course, gift vouchers in which you can exchange for anything you want on Amazon (Top up the balance if the amount is not enough. Heh.) and also you might also have the option of the moolah being directly deposited into your account if you happen to be in the US. If not, be happy with the cheque mate.
Ok. Nuff talking about the good side of this Behemoth. Lets find out where its weaker points are so that you will know what to look out for when you sign up for the program. First off, Amazon is much more popular in the States than elsewhere. As such if your traffic is mainly from a location that haven’t really warmed up with the idea of buying from Amazon, then you might just face a lil bit of problem here. Fuerthermore, Amazon do not send all their products out internationally. This is especially so for the big ticket items like the Giant White Elephant Statue (heh) or the odd item that can’t fit into a van even. But wait a minute, does Amazon have the Affiliate programs suited for other countries such as the UK, Japan, Europe, etc? Yes do they do and well lets just say that you have to sign up for them if you really wanna target these areas.
So folks, if you are really serious about trying this out which I of course would recommend for the heck of it and also for getting some experience with this program, sign up for free here.
