I stumbled upon a site that had some pretty good content on how you can grow a small business. The 3 main things mentioned in the guide is:

- Create an Identity
- Spread the Word
Position and Plan. Every business startup needs this. If you don’t position yourself well and in a market that is simple overcrowded, you might just sink amongst all that noise. You need to plan, because if you don’t plan, you might again sink in the abyss of the tasks and chores that you need to accomplish.
Creating an identity is important too. Your customers need to separate you from the rest and it will be to your advantage if the name and the brand that signifies your business is easy to remember and unique. It will be an added advantage if you provide superb products and services and people remember you and your business by that characteristic alone.
Spread the word to as many people as possible. Let people know that you exist. A good product is as good as how much people knows it exist and how they perceive it to be. So, don’t hesitate to let people in on your business and what you have to offer. Try to make it your product and service as compelling to buy as possible. Keep it simple for them to buy and give them a good positive experience all around. They will come back for more and maybe help you spread a word or two.
